A speculative film for the Seiko 5 Sports GMT, shot at model-railway scale — a maintenance crew who live on the dial and are permanently one step behind the hands.

Concept

The dial is a worksite and the crew is always late: every job has to be finished before the next hand sweeps over it, so nobody walks when they can ride. They get around by hanging off the seconds hand and jumping the date disc as it turns. One rule keeps it honest — the register never breaks. 100mm macro, a hard low light raking along every polished bevel, real dust sitting in the lacquer, and nothing in frame larger than a wristwatch. A shadow starts creeping toward the crew in the first cut and doesn't land until the fifth; that delay is what holds the twenty seconds together.

A line of miniature workers hauling a handcart up to a raised cream numeral
Crew braced inside the open diamond lozenge of the red-orange GMT hand, dragging it around the dial
Overhead view of workers crossing the applied twelve o'clock markers, long shadows behind them
A single worker standing alone inside the open date window, dwarfed by the applied numerals
The whole dial working at once — crews running between markers as the hands sweep overhead
The finished Seiko 5 Sports GMT on a real wrist, steel bracelet catching the light on a bright street
